A summer day in Prague
"After the most sumptuous lunch, I explored the lanes of Mala Strana, in Prague. Cobbled-stoned roads and vibrant walls, this place breathed flamboyance. My sister and I stopped for sorbet and were greeted by smiling faces, pretty nooks and corners and a vintage book store"
Stories of Rajashthan
" "Khamma Ghani sa" which translates to - Lots of greetings, is the royal salute of welcoming guests into the Land of the Kings, Rajasthan. It's grandeur lies in the intricate artwork laden walls, magnificent forts, ancient jharokhas, but most importantly, some of the most talented and skilful street artists.
I saw him outside the Meherangarh fort, in a quaint corner, playing an old Hindi song on his very intriguing instrument. Requested to click a picture and spent time getting lost in his soulful tunes. "
Breakfast and books of Paris
" To walk a parisian street is to feel like a character in a movie. It's poetic, romantic, full of chic coats, croissants and furry poodles.
On one such Tuesday morning, I was alone in the city of my dreams, little scared and lots excited. After a very satisfying (read indulgent) breakfast of a cold eclair and coffee, I found myself standing outside Shakespeare and Co. A divine legacy, the smell of a bookstore, and a free bench, my day was made. "
Nap under the Supertree Groves of Singapore
" A tiny city, or an island, whatever you wish to call it, Singapore is an amalgamation of all things wondrous. Glorious skyscrapers, pristine gardens, bustling crowds and chirpy hawker centres are the heart of what we know as the Lion city. Beaming with diverse cultures, its essence mightily reflects on its people and food. An evening of endless hogging, followed by a walk around the Supertree Groves to catch the setting sun, ended our Day 1.
Ambarsariyas..their shrines and tandoors.
" "Ik Onkar", a holy chant that means - there's only one god, also symbolises the importance of oneness of humanity, a holy phrase often resounding the walls of The Golden Temple in Amritsar, India. It's also what the people of the city believe and practice, for often you'll find a helping hand there, sometimes without even needing one. Whether it's the warmth of the people, the arrays of Chole-Kulche waale with their smoking tandoors, or the divine passage of the temple, there is something in this city that will pull you closer and let you immerse in it.
Mountain glory, Naukuchiatal, Uttarakhand, India.
" The Mountains of India, vary in shapes and sizes, climates and cultures, food and people. But there are things that bind them still; the morning sun, the kulhad chai, their maggie points and mall roads. We often find solace in the hills, high or low, to escape the hottest months elsewhere in India. And as most people would say, "Pahadon me sabka ek ghar hai" (There's always a home away from home, in the hills).
Hidden gem of Bentota, Sri Lanka
"Woke up on a sunny Friday morning, far far away from home, in the resort town Bentota, and was greeted by the best breakfast spots. Tucked in a quaint corner, Saman Villas is a Boutique Hotel that hosts guests from all over the world. From a seven-course breakfast to an exquisite Sri Lankan spread, layered on a candle-lit table, it was all things whimsical and luxurious.
